Class Descriptions

Level 1

Our Level 1 classes are perfect for students who have never done yoga before or are fairly new to the practice of yoga. These classes move at a gentler pace with thorough instruction and attention to detail. Students begin to understand the fundamental principles of breathing and yoga postures.

Level 1-2

This class is the first step towards building greater strength, flexibility, and stamina, while still providing detailed instruction. Ideal for beginning level students as well as more experienced students who enjoy a lighter practice.

Level 2

Intermediate classes are more rigorous and introduce greater flow in the sequences along with more advanced poses. Ideal for students who have an understanding of basic postures and breathing and are ready to deepen their practice.

Elements of Shakti Yoga

Elements of Shakti Yoga is a gentle, all-inclusive practice designed to nurture your entire body from head to toe, inside and out, with the focus of becoming familiar with basic yoga poses and mastering them.

Shakti Yoga

This traditional vinyasa (flow) style class is a complete yoga practice with Classical Sun Salutes, Asana (poses), Pranayama (breathing), Mantra (Sanskrit sound formulas for well-being) and a guided deep relaxation. Shakti Yoga is designed to offer the experience of the traditional, spiritual and transformative aspects of a yoga practice. All levels are welcome to the Shakti level 1-2 class. The level 2-3 Shakti Yoga practice involves greater intensity and advanced asanas.

The Shakti Yoga practice was created by Master Yogi Jnana Nanda Bharati based on the ancient Vedic, Tantric and Yogic traditions.

Pre & Post Natal Yoga

Prenatal yoga is powerful tool for expectant mothers to support their pregnancy and to prepare for labor and giving birth.

Post-natal yoga is focused on getting new mothers steadily back into shape, allowing you to stretch and tone the body while gaining balance, focus and inner peace. Babies are welcomed.

Level 1 Gentle

Consists of easy movements, long streches and deep breathing, meant to calm and revitalize. This class is appropriate for students of every ability, age, and fitness level.

Shakti Youth Program

A very fun and educational class for kids ages 5-14. This class is a great way for kids to develop self-expression, focus, discipline, social skills, coordination, flexibility, muscle tone and body awareness - a gift of knowledge that can last a lifetime and help our youth grow up balanced.

Ashtanga Prep

This class is a rigorous sequence of poses designed to purify, strengthen and balance the body. The breath is linked with the movements to create a flow, increasing one's stamina, flexibility and focus. Students with a regular practice find rapid progress with this system. The Prep class is equivalent to a Level 2 in intensity and includes about 75% of the poses from the complete Ashtanga Primary (1st ) series.

Ashtanga 1st Series

An intense and complete Ashtanga practice covering the entire Primary Series in the Ashtanga system. Previous Ashtanga experience highly recommended.

Private Instruction

One-on-one sessions with our experienced instructors are an excellent way for beginners to develop a solid yoga practice, or for experienced practitioners to delve into the subtleties of yoga.
