Individual, Fully Customized Programs For Health, Vitality & Longevity
Ayurveda is the original holistic health system. It is the sister science to yoga and offers fully customized programs for each individual’s unique constitution and health goals. Ayurveda is a Sanskrit word meaning the knowledge or wisdom of life. It originated in the Vedic culture of India over 5000 years ago. Ayurveda is very effective in recognizing imbalances in our body and mind and creating programs of food, lifestyle, routine and often herbal remedies to systematically bring our system into a more balanced, vibrant state. It is unsurpassed as a natural system of health maintenance, disease prevention and healing. The goal of Ayurveda is to balance aspects of our environment, body, mind and spirit in order to allow each individual to reach her/his full potential. This balance creates an optimal environment for health and maximizes the body’s ability to heal itself. When we bring ourselves into greater harmony with the natural forces of the universe, we set the stage for optimal health and wellbeing.
How Does it Work?
Ayurveda recognizes that each person has a unique mind-body constitution. We all come into this world with a certain make up and fundamental qualities. Our original constitution in combination with our environment, daily routines and life experiences determine the state of health and wellbeing for our body and mind. The science of Ayurveda has determined the types of foods, routines and lifestyle practices which will be most harmonious and balancing to our unique, natural constitution. Our modern, busy lifestyles tend to stress our system and cause imbalances. In addition, without understanding our unique make up, we may be doing things in our daily life that seem good for us, but may actually be causing imbalances. These imbalances often manifest as symptoms that cause discomfort, pain, illness, anxiety and various other conditions. Through a comprehensive consultation, our Ayurvedic practitioners will assess your fundamental constitution and the imbalances present in the system. In conjunction with your health goals, they will then create a customized program specifically for you.
Ayurveda recommends several methods to bring about the harmony and balance required for health. The primary focus is diet [digestion] and lifestyle. Ayurveda teaches us that disease begins in the digestive tract; if digestion is poor, toxins accumulate in the body and create discomfort and illness. Herbs are used for support while changes are being incorporated into daily life. Other therapies which may be utilized are daily & lifestyle routines, Ayurvedic bodywork (massage), purification therapies (Pancha Karma), as well as yoga and meditation.
Ayurveda presents a model of balanced living which focuses on moderation. It offers a journey of self-understanding and education leading to happiness and good health. Want more information? ATTEND ONE OF OUR FREE INFORMATION SESSIONS…
